September 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest gaming months of the year.

The Blood of Dawnwalker – September 3
The Blood of Dawnwalker kicks off the month on September 3.
Rebel Wolves created the dark fantasy action RPG. The studio includes developers who previously worked on The Witcher series.
Players take control of Coen, a young man who becomes a Dawnwalker. He can use different abilities depending on the time of day.
The game launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword – September 4
Capcom brings Onimusha back with Way of the Sword on September 4.
The action game takes players to a dark version of feudal Japan. Players battle supernatural enemies while mastering sword-based combat.
It marks a major return for a series that spent years away from the spotlight.

Marvel’s Wolverine – September 15
Marvel’s Wolverine could become one of September’s biggest releases.
Insomniac Games puts Logan at the centre of a new action-adventure made for PS5. The game features the studio’s take on Wolverine and his brutal combat style.
The September 15 launch also gives PlayStation one of the month’s biggest exclusives.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave – September 17
Nintendo Switch 2 players get a major exclusive on September 17.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave follows four heroes whose stories connect across time. Players will explore the world, build their forces and fight tactical battles.
Players must gather allies and stop the demon god Balor as they travel between the past and present.
Nintendo lists the game exclusively for Switch 2.
Silent Hill: Townfall – September 24
September gets much darker near the end of the month.
Silent Hill: Townfall brings another psychological horror experience to the long-running series.
The game arrives on September 24, making it an interesting option for horror fans heading into October.
Control Resonant – September 24
Remedy’s Control universe also returns in September.
Control Resonant shifts the focus to Dylan Faden and takes the supernatural action into Manhattan.
The game launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on September 24.
