CD Projekt Red has officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, launching September 29, 2026.
Even better, players who already own The Witcher 3 on qualifying platforms, including Steam, will receive the Remastered upgrade for free.
And this isn’t just another small graphics update.
The Witcher 3 Is Getting Some Serious Upgrades
CD Projekt Red says Remastered will improve visuals, performance and gameplay.
The confirmed improvements include upgraded environments, NPC and monster textures, improved foliage, lighting and ray tracing.
Gameplay is also getting attention.
Players can expect enhanced combat, improved movement and traversal, revamped horse handling, new Witcher Sign effects, updated monster behavior and a redesigned skill tree.
There will also be transmogrification, new finishers and an expanded Photo Mode.
For a game originally released in 2015, that’s a substantial refresh.
Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine Are Now Free
Here’s another surprise.
Anyone who owns the base version of The Witcher 3 now gets Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine at no additional cost.
Both expansions will also be included with Remastered.
If you’ve somehow made it this long without playing Blood and Wine, you now have one less excuse.
Geralt Isn’t Finished Yet
The Remaster isn’t the end of the story either.
CD Projekt Red also showed Songs of the Past, a brand-new paid expansion coming in 2027.
The expansion takes Geralt to Letten, a new region that appears peaceful on the surface but hides something much darker underneath.
Geralt will encounter new enemies, gain new abilities and even wield a new weapon: a chain.
That means we’re getting another reason to return to The Witcher 3 more than a decade after its original release.
Time to Return to the Continent
The Witcher 3 is already one of the most celebrated RPGs ever made. CD Projekt Red says it has sold more than 65 million copies and collected more than 250 Game of the Year awards.
Now we’re getting improved visuals, gameplay changes, both original expansions and a major Remastered upgrade without existing Steam owners having to buy the game again.
That’s how you bring players back.
