Rockstar Games has revealed a massive new collector’s set for Grand Theft Auto VI, but its eye-watering price is already causing controversy among GTA fans.
The Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection costs $399.99 USD, and despite that premium price, there’s one pretty important thing missing from the box:
A copy of GTA 6.
Rockstar specifically states that Grand Theft Auto VI is sold separately, a decision that has quickly become one of the biggest talking points surrounding the collection.
What Comes With the GTA 6 Vice City Collection?
This certainly isn’t an empty box. Rockstar has packed the collection with GTA 6 merchandise inspired by Vice City, Leonida and the fictional TV show Macca the Gator.
The collection includes:

The inclusion of officially branded Oakley sunglasses and a New Era hat helps explain why this isn’t a cheap merchandise bundle.
But for some fans, that still doesn’t justify spending nearly $400 on a GTA 6 collector’s set without actually getting GTA 6.
The Game Is Sold Separately
This is where the controversy really begins.
Rockstar’s own store listing makes it clear that Grand Theft Auto VI is not included with the Vice City Collection.
That means anyone who buys the $399.99 collection will still have to purchase GTA 6 separately if they actually want to play the game.
And there’s another detail worth mentioning: according to Rockstar’s store listing, the collection isn’t eligible for free shipping either.
For something carrying such a premium price, it’s easy to understand why that combination has caught the attention of fans.
GTA Fans Question the $400 Price
Reaction online has focused heavily on value.
Some fans like the individual collectibles, particularly the Oakley sunglasses, Macca figure and Leonida merchandise. Others have questioned whether those items justify the overall cost when the game itself isn’t included.
The debate has also brought older Rockstar collector’s releases back into the conversation.
Red Dead Redemption 2, for example, received a Collector’s Box that similarly did not contain the game. However, that collection originally carried a much lower $99.99 price.
That makes the $399.99 Vice City Collection a very different proposition.
This Is More of a GTA 6 Merchandise Collection
Despite the controversy, Rockstar isn’t technically presenting this as a traditional game edition.
The company describes it as a premium limited-edition collectible set, and the official name is the Goodtime State – Vice City Collection rather than simply calling it a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition.
That’s an important distinction.
You’re essentially buying a large collection of premium GTA 6 merchandise rather than an expensive version of the game itself.
Whether that’s worth $399.99 will depend heavily on how much value collectors place on the exclusive merchandise.
The Leonida Map Could Be One of the Most Interesting Items
Buried among the hats, sunglasses and collectibles may be something GTA fans find much more interesting.
The double-sided souvenir poster includes a full view of Leonida, giving fans another official look at the state where GTA 6 takes place.
With players already spending years attempting to reconstruct GTA 6’s world from trailers, screenshots and official artwork, the physical Leonida map could become one of the most sought-after pieces in the entire collection.
When Does the GTA 6 Vice City Collection Release?
Rockstar says the Goodtime State – Vice City Collection will arrive on November 19, 2026, alongside Grand Theft Auto VI.
The collection is limited edition and available for pre-order while supplies last through the Rockstar Store.
More GTA 6 apparel and collectibles are also expected to arrive through Rockstar’s store.

There’s no question that Rockstar has put together one of its most elaborate GTA merchandise collections yet.
Oakley sunglasses, a New Era hat, a Macca the Gator figure, Leonida accessories and a physical map make this a serious package for dedicated collectors.
But $399.99 without GTA 6 included is going to be the sticking point for a lot of players.
