More Than Just Gaming
XP Melee isn’t something I created just for myself. It’s for every gamer who remembers the moment they first fell in love with gaming.
Maybe it started at an arcade, with your first handheld, your first console, or the first time you sat down at a PC and discovered a game you couldn’t put down. Those experiences become memories that stay with us.
For me, some of my greatest gaming memories were shared with three of my closest friends.
We spent countless hours gaming together in my basement. From Marvel vs. Capcom to Halo and so many other games over the years, those sessions became some of my favourite memories.
One of those friends became much more than a friend to me. He was someone I considered a brother.
It wasn’t just about the games. It was the competition, the laughs, the trash talk, and most importantly, the time we got to spend together.
He has since passed away, but those are memories I will forever cherish.
XP Melee is dedicated in part to him, to the friends who shared those gaming memories with us, and to every gamer who has ever picked up a controller, grabbed a handheld, sat down at a keyboard, or stood in front of an arcade machine and discovered something they loved.
Games change. Consoles come and go. But the people we play with and the memories we make together can stay with us forever.
