Rumors are circulating that Sony Interactive Entertainment may reconsider its strategy of bringing PlayStation exclusives on PC, potentially scaling back future PS5 exclusives from receiving PC ports.
Nothing is officially confirmed, but multiple industry insiders suggest Sony could scale back PC releases for its biggest single-player titles moving forward.
Over the last few years, PlayStation games like God of War Ragnarök, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and The Last of Us Part I made their way to PC after launching on console.
The rumor now? Future narrative-heavy exclusives may remain PlayStation-only.
Why would Sony do this?
Some analysts believe:
- PC ports may not be hitting revenue expectations
- Sony wants to strengthen the value of owning a PS5
- Live-service titles will still launch on PC, but single-player blockbusters may not
If true, this would mark a major shift in strategy.
That said, Sony has not made any official announcement confirming a policy change.
Until then, this remains industry speculation — but it’s definitely something to watch.
XP Melee will keep tracking updates as this develops.
